Before You Begin
Make sure you have:
- A microphone connected to your computer
- Microsoft PowerPoint installed
- A completed presentation ready for recording
Tip: Use a headset with a microphone for the best audio quality.
Step 1: Open Your Presentation
- Open Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Open the presentation you would like to narrate.
Step 2: Access the Record Feature
- Select the Record tab on the ribbon.
- Click Record.

Step 3: Start Recording
- The recording studio will open.
- Verify your microphone is selected.
- Position yourself in a quiet environment.
- Click the Record button (red circle).
PowerPoint will begin recording:
- Your voice narration
- Slide timings
- Optional webcam video (if enabled)

Step 4: Narrate Your Slides
- Speak clearly while presenting each slide.
- Advance to the next slide when ready.
- Continue until all slides have been recorded.
Tips for Success:
- Speak at a steady pace.
- Minimize background noise.
- Pause briefly between slides.
- Follow prepared notes if available.
Step 5: Stop the Recording
- Select Stop when you have finished.
- Close the recording studio.
Your narration and slide timings will automatically be saved within the PowerPoint presentation.
Step 6: Preview Your Narration
- Select Slide Show.
- Choose From Beginning or From Current Slide.
- Listen to the audio and verify it plays correctly.

Re-Record a Single Slide
If one slide needs to be updated:
- Select the slide.
- Go to the Record tab.
- Click Record.
- Navigate to the slide you want to replace.
- Record the narration again for that slide.
- Save the presentation.
PowerPoint will replace the previous narration for that slide.
View Recorded Audio on a Slide
After recording, a speaker icon appears on narrated slides.
- Select the slide.
- Locate the speaker icon.
- Click the icon to:
- Play the narration
- Adjust playback settings
- Delete the recording if needed

Export as a Video (Optional)
To share the presentation as a video:
- Select File → Export.
- Choose Create a Video.
- Select video quality.
- Ensure Use Recorded Timings and Narrations is selected.
- Click Create Video.
- Choose a save location.
PowerPoint will create an MP4 video containing your narration.

Remove Narration from One Slide
- Open your PowerPoint presentation.
- Navigate to the slide containing the narration.
- Locate the speaker icon on the slide.
- Click the speaker icon to select it.
- Press Delete on your keyboard.
The narration for that slide will be removed.

Remove Narration from All Slides
- Open your presentation.
- Select the Record tab.
- Click Clear.
- Choose Clear Recordings on All Slides.
This removes all recorded audio narrations from the presentation.
