Degree Navigator houses a useful tool to communicate with students when it comes to course selections and tips on Advising for future or upcoming semesters.
*NOTE: Any Information placed in the Degree Navigator Communicator can be seen by the student. It is important to keep these notes direct and positive. Advisor Role permissions allow the ability to edit/modify only your own submitted messages.
1. LOG INTO DEGREE NAVIGATOR AND SEARCH THE STUDENT
The Communicator button can be accessed from the student's Welcome/Academic Goal page and also once you have entered the audit.
2. CLICK THE COMMUNICATOR BUTTON
3. CLICK THE OPTION THAT SAYS - NEW WINDOW (STUDENTS NAME)
4. A SMALL POP UP SCREEN WILL OPEN AND ALLOW THE ABILITY FOR TYPING IN THE BOX WHERE IT SAYS ENTER MESSAGE HERE...
5. IT IS IMPORTANT TO STATE SEMESTER & YEAR AND WHAT INFORMATION YOU ARE TRYING TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE STUDENT (EX: SPRING 2025 - COURSE RECOMMENDATIONS). THESE NOTES ARE MEANT TO BE SIMPLE AND DIRECT.
6. ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE RECOMMENDATIONS - CLICK SUBMIT
7. THE NOTE WILL POST AND PROVIDE THE DATE AND TIME OF SUBMISSION. IT WILL ALSO SHOW THE PERSON WHO SUBMITTED THE NOTE. WHEN OTHERS VIEW THIS NOTE IT WILL SHOW A FULL NAME.
8. ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE NOTES - "X" OUT OF THE POP UP WINDOW AND CONTINUE WORKING IN DEGREE NAVIGATOR.
