Feedback is an important part of your learning. In Moodle, instructors can leave feedback in several ways:

directly in the gradebook, on assignments, or through Turnitin and other tools.

This guide explains how to find and view that feedback.

1. Viewing Feedback in the Gradebook

  1. Log in to your Moodle course.

  2. From the left navigation menu, select “Grades.”

  3. You’ll see a list of all graded items (assignments, quizzes, discussions, etc.).

  4. To see more details:

    • Click the assignment name or the “Feedback” link (if available).

    • Any comments from your instructor or attached annotated files will appear here.

  5. You can also view your overall course grade and a breakdown by category (e.g., Quizzes, Assignments, Exams).

Tip: Look for icons like a speech bubble ?️ or paperclip ? — these often indicate written or file feedback.

2. Viewing Feedback on Assignments

  1. In your course, click the Assignment activity.

  2. You’ll see your submission status.

  3. If the assignment has been graded:

    • A grade will appear at the top.

    • Look for a “Feedback comments” section below the grade.

    • If your instructor added an annotated file (e.g., a PDF with notes), you’ll see it under “Feedback files.”

  4. Click the file to download or view your instructor’s annotations.

Important: If your assignment isn’t graded yet, feedback won’t appear. Check the due date and grading status for

 updates.

3. Viewing Feedback on Quizzes and Other Activities

  • Quizzes:

    1. Go to the quiz activity.

    2. Click “Review attempt.”

    3. You’ll see your answers, correct answers (if enabled), and instructor comments per question.

  • Forums, Lessons, or Workshops:

    • Look for “Grades” or “View feedback” links within the activity itself.

    • Feedback often appears after grading is complete.

4. Accessing Feedback Through the Dashboard

  1. On your Moodle Dashboard, find the “Timeline” or “Recently accessed courses.”

  2. Click on any graded activity listed.

  3. This will take you directly to the assignment feedback page.

5. Notifications and Messaging

  • If your instructor leaves feedback, Moodle may notify you through:

    • The bell icon in the top right corner.

    • An email notification (depending on your settings).

  • Click the notification to go directly to the feedback.

Tip: Check your notification preferences to make sure you don’t miss instructor feedback.

6. Turnitin Feedback

If your instructor uses Turnitin:

  1. Open the Turnitin Assignment in your course.

  2. Click the Submission title or View Feedback.

  3. In the Turnitin Feedback Studio:

    • Instructor comments appear as blue speech bubbles on your paper.

    • Overall comments or rubrics may appear on the right panel.

  4. Download the graded paper with comments if available.

7. Troubleshooting Tips

  • If you are unable to see feedback:

    • Make sure the assignment has been graded.

    • Refresh the page or try a different browser.

    • Check if the instructor set the feedback to be released on a future date.

  • If the issue continues, contact your course instructor or IET Help Desk.
