MonitorEDU is a live proctoring service that some instructors at LSUA use to proctor their exams. 

General Instructions Before Getting Started

  1. Navigate to and scroll down to "To Test Your Internet". It is important that you follow the test instructions to ensure your Internet connectivity is acceptable for the actual exam. 
  2. Test your webcam. Plug in your webcam and navigate to and click Submit to launch a video and click Start Video Chat. Your browser may prompt you to allow Camera and Microphone. Please allow to proceed. Make sure you can see yourself in the camera and if you can, then you are good and can close the page. 
  3. Set Up Your Mobile
    • Download the Google Meet (Original) App to your phone. This app is free. iPhone | Android
    • Open the Google Meet App.
    • Click New Meeting to start an Instant Meeting. 
    • Make sure you can see yourself in your camera in the bottom right corner. If you can, you are good and can close the app.

Pay for Your Exam

  1. Go to
  2. Click Pay for My Test at the top. 
  3. Select US Colleges/Universities
  4. Click on LSU Alexandria
  5. Proceed with the on-screen prompts to pay for your exam. Make sure you save your receipt/order number because you will need it later when you start taking your exam. 

Taking Your Exam

  1. Go to
  2. Click "Pick School/organization" and select "US Colleges/universities."
  3. Locate the LSU of Alexandria button and click it.
  4. On the next page, type in the required information and the Receipt or Order Number.
  5. Click Start Chat to be connected to a proctor. 
  6. Screen Share - The proctor will provide you with a link for Screen Sharing.  
    1. Join the Google Meet 
    2. Click the rectangle with the arrow pointing up.
    3.  Click “Entire screen”
    4. Click on the preview of your screen so that it’s highlighted
    5.  Click “Share”

NOTE for MAC Users:

MacIf you’re on a mac there are times where you must allow Google Chrome permission by going into system preferences, Privacy and Security, Screen, and System Audio Recording and make sure Google Chrome is allowed. If that doesn’t work, you can open the Google Meet in Safari and it doesn’t require permissions to share the screen. 

        7.  Once you are connected to a Proctor, the proctor will walk you through the rest of the steps to begin taking your                     exam.
