LSUA offers multiple course sections to accommodate different learning preferences and schedules. Courses are conducted face-to-face, 100% online or hybrid formats.  Hybrid courses blend in-person instruction with online content, ensuring flexibility for students. 


Course sections are designated by specific letter codes, which indicate the mode of instruction and the amount of required in-class time. 


The following chart provides a breakdown of these section codes and their corresponding instructional formats:

Hybrid Sections:

J section -- minimum of 50 minutes of in-class instructional time per week; the remainder of course content is delivered online

  • for example, Mondays 11-11:50 in-class meeting with the remainder of course content online

K section -- minimum of 75 minutes of in-class instructional time per week; the remainder of course content is delivered online

  • for example, Tuesday 9:30-10:45 in-class meeting with the remainder of course content online

L section -- minimum of 100 minutes of in-class instructional time per week; the remainder of course content is delivered online

  • for example, MW 1-1:50 in-class meetings with the "Friday" content online

050 & P section - Dual Enrollment courses
