LSUA offers multiple course sections to accommodate different learning preferences and schedules. Courses are conducted face-to-face, 100% online or hybrid formats. Hybrid courses blend in-person instruction with online content, ensuring flexibility for students.
Course sections are designated by specific letter codes, which indicate the mode of instruction and the amount of required in-class time.
The following chart provides a breakdown of these section codes and their corresponding instructional formats:
| Section Code | Instruction Type | In-Class Time Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| X | Face-to-Face | 100% in-class |
| I | 100% Online | No in-class time |
| J | Hybrid | Minimum 50 minutes/week |
| K | Hybrid | Minimum 75 minutes/week |
| L | Hybrid | Minimum 100 minutes/week |
Hybrid Sections:
J section -- minimum of 50 minutes of in-class instructional time per week; the remainder of course content is delivered online
- for example, Mondays 11-11:50 in-class meeting with the remainder of course content online
K section -- minimum of 75 minutes of in-class instructional time per week; the remainder of course content is delivered online
- for example, Tuesday 9:30-10:45 in-class meeting with the remainder of course content online
L section -- minimum of 100 minutes of in-class instructional time per week; the remainder of course content is delivered online
- for example, MW 1-1:50 in-class meetings with the "Friday" content online

This structured approach allows students to select the course format that best suits their needs, balancing flexibility with in-person engagement.
