  1. Open your web browser and go to: https://shadowhealth.com

  2. Click “Login” (top-right corner).

  3. Enter your institution email and password.

    • If this is your first time, select “Register for a Student Account” and follow the prompts.

    • You may need your course invite link or access code provided by your instructor.

  4. Once logged in, select your course from the dashboard.


2. System Requirements

✅ A computer/laptop with reliable internet.
✅ Headset with microphone (some assignments use voice).


3. Navigating the Platform

  • Dashboard – Lists all assigned modules (e.g., Health History, Respiratory, Neurological).

  • Assignments – Click an assignment to launch the simulation.

  • Grades & Feedback – After completion, you can review your performance and instructor feedback.


4. Completing a Digital Clinical Experience

  1. Launch the Assignment – Click the module name (e.g., Focused Exam: Cough).

  2. Meet Your Patient – A virtual patient appears (ex: Tina Jones).

  3. Patient Interview

    • Type your questions in the chat box (use natural language like “Do you have any allergies?”).

    • The patient will respond in real time.

  4. Physical Assessment

    • Select the appropriate body system.

    • Perform inspection, palpation, auscultation, etc. (using on-screen tools).

  5. Documentation

    • Record your findings in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) provided.

  6. Submit

    • Once finished, click Submit Assignment.

    • You will see a performance summary and receive credit.

  • Use clinical language in your questions (not casual conversation).

  • Explore different questioning styles (open-ended vs. closed).
