LSUA provides faculty with access to a variety of licensed instructional, communication, assessment, and engagement tools to support teaching, learning, and academic integrity.

All tools listed below use LSUA Single Sign-On (SSO), allowing faculty to log in using their LSUA credentials without creating separate accounts.


Coursera

Purpose: Online professional development and instructional resource platform

Coursera provides access to a wide range of online courses, certificates, and learning resources developed by universities and industry partners.

How it works:
LSUA faculty can access Coursera content through the university’s institutional license by signing in with their LSUA credentials. Courses are self-paced and delivered entirely online.

Common faculty uses:

  • Professional development and skill building

  • Exploring emerging topics and technologies

  • Supporting instructional design and course enhancement

  • Earning certificates aligned with teaching, technology, or disciplinary interests

Access:

Mentimeter

Purpose: Interactive polling and student engagement

Mentimeter allows faculty to create live polls, quizzes, word clouds, and Q&A activities. Students respond in real time using a web browser or mobile device.

Common uses:

  • Anonymous feedback

  • Icebreakers and discussions


Microsoft 365 (Office 365)

Purpose: Productivity and collaboration suite

Microsoft 365 provides cloud-based and desktop applications for document creation, storage, and collaboration.

Includes:

  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • OneDrive cloud storage

  • OneNote

  • Microsoft Teams

  • Microsoft Copilot

Common uses:

  • Course material creation

  • File sharing and collaboration

  • Communication and meetings


Microsoft Copilot

Purpose: AI-powered productivity assistant

Copilot integrates into Microsoft 365 applications to assist with drafting, summarizing, data analysis, and content creation.

Common uses:

  • Drafting emails, syllabi, and documents

  • Summarizing content

  • Creating presentations

  • Improving workflow efficiency


Microsoft Teams

Purpose: Communication and collaboration

Teams combines chat, video meetings, file sharing, and collaboration tools into a single platform.

Common uses:

  • Virtual class sessions or review meetings

  • Office hours

  • Departmental and committee meetings

  • Group collaboration and project work


MonitorEDU

Purpose: Online exam proctoring

MonitorEDU provides remote exam monitoring using webcam, screen recording, and AI-assisted review.

Common uses:

  • Online exams

  • Academic integrity monitoring

  • Remote assessment delivery


Moodle

Purpose: Learning Management System (LMS)

Moodle is LSUA’s primary platform for course delivery and management.

Common tools available in Moodle:

  • Assignments, quizzes, and question banks

  • Announcements and discussion forums

  • Gradebook and rubrics

  • Groups and collaborative activities

  • Completion tracking and reporting

Common uses:

  • Managing course content and assessments

  • Communicating with students

Outlook

Purpose: Email and calendar management

Outlook is LSUA’s official email and scheduling platform.

Common uses:

  • Faculty–student communication

  • Meeting and office hour scheduling

  • University correspondence


Panopto

Purpose: Video capture and lecture recording

Panopto allows faculty to record, host, and share video content securely. Videos integrate directly into Moodle courses.

Common uses:

  • Recording lectures and presentations

  • Creating instructional or tutorial videos

  • Supporting flipped, hybrid, and online courses


Perusall

Purpose: Collaborative reading and annotation

Perusall enables students to engage with course readings through shared annotations and discussion.

Common uses:

  • Active reading assignments

  • Collaborative discussion around texts

  • Participation-based grading


ProctorU

Purpose: Live online exam proctoring

ProctorU provides live, human-monitored exam proctoring with identity verification.

Common uses:

  • High-stakes online exams

  • Identity verification

  • Academic integrity assurance


Turnitin

Purpose: Plagiarism detection and originality checking

Turnitin compares student submissions against academic, web, and publication databases.

Common uses:

  • Plagiarism detection

  • Teaching proper citation

  • Supporting academic integrity


Zoom

Purpose: Video conferencing

Zoom supports synchronous online instruction and meetings through video, audio, and screen sharing.

Common uses:

  • Live online lectures

  • Virtual office hours

  • Guest speakers and student presentations
